Default Tiger's two D's

During the World Series was the first time I've ever noticed that the D on the Tiger's cap and jersey are slightly different. Before I thought that only the Yankees did this. Are there any other examples?

Ah... nice to see this thread got resurrected. (LAUGH)

There's a nice long discourse about the two D's on ESPN's UniWatch page from last month. Basically, the two D's diverged sometime in the history of the franchise (one for the jersey, one for the cap), and have never reconciled.

I think SportsCenter even had a segment on this.

I believe taht the bottom one is the older D. This is a great idea. It makes people remember the goog old days of Tiger baseball and will always have an old part of the Tigers with them.

The Yankees also have two NY's. IMO in this day and age there's no excuse for this kind of mismatch. Pick one version of the logo and go with it.
