Default Team colors: 2 vs multi (3 or more)

Is it me or do teams that have 2 team colors (Red Wings,NY Jets, etc) look better than teams that have multi color team colors? Now whether you view White as a primary color or neutral is one own perception, I view it as a primary color. I wish more teams went with 2 team colors (white + one other color) than using three or more; it seems the more colors you have, the more cluttered the uniform becomes.

It depends on the usage of the secondary color (on three-color uniforms). Sometimes they make great alternate uniforms, so I can't necessarily say that I'm against it. I can't see baseball teams like the Giants and the Braves without their third color to be honest with you. Normally they are used to outline the lettering (and they are further used as the lettering or the bill on the hat), so no... I'm not opposed to them, and as a matter of fact I tend to prefer them at times.

Of course, that's baseball. Football doesn't have hats with bills, nor do they have their team names on their jerseys. So I can see where you're coming from when relating to football teams and their uniforms. But come on... the Chargers look awesome!

I like it when a team incorperates a little bit of black in the uniform in the NFL as a third color (I.E., Lions Home Blue Jerseys)

i agree with the first poster in the thread....

baseball and football teams look best when they have 2 colors and white - the uniforms as a whole are cleaner - less busy looking....(for instance - the Lion reference above i completely disagree with - their uniform was fine without the adding of black, and i hope every team that added black like that - including the Royals and Mets - drop it completely)

on the other hand sometimes its the combination of colors - the Carolina Panthers are a prime example - their teal and white uniforms i just cannot stand - yet the black top with the teal shoulder stripes are tolerable (& the Patroits, who at least to my eyes, use the same basic uniform design as the Panthers - well i like those unis, but i think that has to do with the color used)

hockey, on the other hand, i think works with multi colors

The Lions ones are nice, but I love the old school gray, blue, and white ones.

Some of the best are the NHL Preds and Wild.

The way I see it, there's no need for a team to have more than three colors plus white without good reason. I like the Celtics' alts, too, but I wish they wore gold instead of black if they had to have an extra color.
