It seems the Tampa Bay Rays (formerly the Devil Rays -- like I won't call them that from time to time) have let a secret get out.
Looks like that may be the case -- though I have to tell you that these duds look too San-Diego like... Or at least invoke it a bit too much for me. View fan opinions on The Heater blog from the St. Pete Times and here are the images: ![]() Home ![]() Road ![]() Alt 1 ![]() Alt2 ![]()

The blue seems rather muted, not very vibrant.
I would have liked the yellow accent more if it was the arm of the 'R' thereby a ray of light coming from the star. That touch more of color would have been solid.

It's too much of other logos. I look at it and it reminds me of the Padres for instance - as I already said. It reminds me of Milwaukee for some reason, it reminds me of the California Angels (note the name) logo from the 1990's that came before the Disney-ification of the team. It reminds me of the Marlins too for whatever reason - I think it's because I've seen a Marlins logo with the M having a swoosh like the R here.

You are thinking of the Milwaukee logo with the glove over the baseball diamond. Oddly, the new Rays logo with the baseball diamond doesn't exist on any of the unis shown.

Reminds me of the Padres too much.
I like it though. But, I agree that the yellow should be more involved. Are they officially just the Rays now? I remember them saying that wanted to go that route.

Anyone know when their new stuff is coming out?
Seems like they would want to have in on store shelves in time for Black Friday. EDIT: Checked their website and its being unveiled Thursday (11/8). Last edited by DR3AMR; 11-05-2007 at 01:08 PM. |

TB unveiled their new logo and unis. They are identical to what was leaked.
The official PR states that the new name 'Rays' reflects "a beacon that radiates throughout Tampa Bay and across the entire state of Florida". I assume that means like sunrays - even though they will still wear an updated Devil Ray patch on their sleeves. But, whatever... They should've somehow incorporated the yellow sunray on their logo into their hats. Its really boring: ![]() |

Looks retarted to me. The cap looks good but the colors are just stupid looking. They should of kept the green colors. With taking the Devil out of Rays! WHY?! That so dumb and stupid. When you say Tampa Bay Rays, it doesn't feel right. Say it right now. Did you? It sounds dull and stupid. It rymes to much. I hate it when team names ryme. Like Atlant Braves, Boston Red S0X and so on and so on.
