This Week’s Opponents

Orlando: Seattle’s first meeting with Orlando this season ended in heartbreaking fashion after Hedo Turkoglu’s deep fade away at the buzzer gave the Magic a one-point victory (88-87 on Nov. 8). The Sonics will look to salvage the sweep this week at KeyArena, where Seattle is 8-2 all-time against Orlando (14-3 all-time in Seattle overall). The Magic have swept the series just once in 16 seasons of matchups.

Indiana: The Sonics and Pacers split a pair of games last season and have split the last 14 meetings overall. Ray Allen led Seattle in scoring in both meetings, including 25 points in the Sonics’ 107-102 victory on 12/4/05. In the rematch on 1/2/06, Fred Jones came off the bench for the Pacers to score a game-high 26 points as Indiana cruised to a 115-96 win. Seattle leads the all-time series 37-27.

Utah: The Sonics shot a season-best 53.6 percent from the field in the first meeting with the Jazz but could not overcome Utah’s 47-27 rebounding advantage in a 118-109 loss at KeyArena on Nov. 17. Seattle had success in Salt Lake City last year, sweeping the two-game road set with the Jazz for the first time since the 1991-92 season. The Sonics had lost eight straight to the Jazz in Utah before winning three of the last four. Seattle holds a 77-60 lead all-time.

·Chris Wilcox needs one block to reach 100.
