Default Intentionally Loosing

I'm almost to the point where I want this team to lose. The draft is a good one, between 6 and 8 players deep who could contribute to a winner as rookies. But I fully expect the Sonics to get the worst possible draft position and just miss the mark of good players.

Maybe the Sonics could package Rashaard for a top pick or two, and then use those picks with their own to move up. Depth is not the issue with this team, the lack of a star outside of the wing players is.

The wing spots (Shooting Guard, Small Forward) are the easiest to fill and I don't see a team with both stars at those slots ever getting far.

you dont think a team with two scoring stars can win? Ray and Lewis are similar to that of Kemp and GP back in the day.

The Suns run a tight ship, and would be just as good if it was just Marion and Nash (both in the backcourt)

But as far as trading Rashard, I think that might make some sense...but at this point trading an elder Ray Allen would get us more, and cost us less (years wise)

I like your thinking though, bedir

Scoring isn't the issue. I don't think you can find a winning team with a SG-SF combo outside of Jordan-Pippen.

Both of your mentions feature Point Guards and Ridnour isn't good enough to be a top three player on a team.

Isn't good enough to be a top-3 player, yes I agree.

But he is good enough to be a top 3 scorer...

Which still ignores the point of the thread. The team has the opportunity to get an amazing talent in this deep draft. Should they go that direction or continue to try and win and thereby finish with the 10th worst record rather than the worst?

You should never try to "intentionally lose" you owe it to use fans to attermpt to win.

This draft isnt even going to be that good, I dont think. Beyond Oden and Durant I see little in my opinion.

Even if we have one of the worst 5 records, doesnt mean we get a top 5. We may go down or up depending on the lotto.....
