Default Game One: Hawks Host Buccaneers - 20-6 (1W-0L)

NFL Game Center: Preview - Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Seattle Seahawks - 2007 1

This game will really be all about three things for the Seahawks. The revamped secondary with additions of Grant, Russell and Wallace, the ability of the defensive line to cope with the full season loss of Marcus Tubbs including how that effects the run defense and lastly the young offensive line's ability to gel granting time to get the ball to the four stud receivers and open up holes for Alexander and Weaver.

Tampa down right sucks, that isn't a shot really its just what Tampa fans think. So I don't know if we will get more than an inkling about the issues that will determine whether the Hawks make it back to the big game, but it will be our first real view.

Seattle's front office has been pumping up kickoff week this year, including flying a "12th man flag" behind an airplane, but what tells me that football season is back are all the ads for the waiting list. There's a waiting list again...

The NFC West Matchups for week one
Carolina @ StLouis
Arizona @ SanFransisco

A few weeks ago I launched my own blog about Seattle Sounders FC and Life in Puget Sound. I won't be by these parts often as my focus has changed. Sorry about the unannounced retirement.

Here's the Times capsule preview
Seahawks | Capsule Preview | Seattle vs. Tampa Bay at Qwest Field, 1:15 p.m., Ch. 13 | Seattle Times Newspaper

I had missed that one of the two new DE was from Tampa

That turned out quite well. The defensive line was quite active forcing poor throws as well as getting several sacks. The new secondary didn't give up but one significant deep play, and led to at least one coverage sack.

Shaun Alexander was strong, agile and actually a decent receiver today, a new wrinkle which can help his longevity. The other positive impression was Nate Burleson as a he performed well on both special teams and as a wide reciever. Having him with a successful season will mean the loss of Jackson is insignificant.

This was the typical first game, very sloppy.
