Big series this weekend. I like the matchups, though Ramirez is not really as bad as he has shown. I think they will be tough, cause we are on the road. I'm hoping for 2 out of 3, and really hoping for a win tonight to get the Sox off on the right foot!!!
Is Wily Mo going to get the start in RF tonight? Does he finish the season on the Sox? I would have bet money that he was on another team by this time... |

I just think you guys should know that HoRam is AMAZING at SafeCo field. Also Welcome to RedSox Nation during SeaFair Weekend. This might be a home game for us.
I'm going to start series threads up, and for the first one since Zen did a fine job I borrowed from him. Adam Jones is starting in Left Field and the lineup should also have the return of the hitless wonder, Richie Sexson. Lineup is stacked with righthanders for Game One with only Ichiro and "the perfect two hitter" Jose Vidro not righthanded. Expect a lot of late inning platoon batting matchups with Raul and BenBroussard on the bench.

Jones is playing well so far. Wonder if Jose Guillen will be willing to admit it afterwords.

I'm suggesting not trying to attend this game.
Tonight the following events are going on in varoius parts of Seattle Storm at Home (key) Sounders at Home (qwest) Seahawks at memorial stadium Mariners at Home (safeco) and SeaFair stuff. Though you can check a lineup that will not have Adam Jones, but will have Ben Broussard at first. McLaren on KOMO "its hard when people boo you. He's (richie) down right now."

Hooray for me! I tuned in just in time to realize that the second best closer in the game was on the mound at yet the Mariners still made a go at it. Looking back through what happened, it is obvious that Jose Guillen had one good at bat, that the defense in the OF is suspect and that hitting with RISP was a major issue.
Bullpens from Game Two Boston : WPA +.223, 3 H, 2BB, 1ER, 0HR, 3K, 2GB, 3FB, 1LD, 2IP Seattle : WPA +102, 2H, 0BB, 0ER, 0HR, 6K, 2GB, 1FB, 1LD, 2.2IP Running Totals Boston : WPA -.013, 6H, 3BB, 3ER, 1HR, 6K, 6GB, 6FB, 2LD, 5IP Have used Delcamen, Lopez, Timlin, Gagne, Pappelbon Seattle : WPA +.550, 4H, 2BB, 0ER, 0HR, 9K, 12GB, 3FB, 2LD, 7.2IP Have used Green, Sherrill, Lowe, O'Flaherty, Putz, Morrow, Roland-Smith Small snapshot for certain but the Mariners pen is showing its depth and flexibility with a group of guys that can play platoon matchups, get strikeouts and doubleplay generating arms.

Game Three features a lineup change for the Mariners
Ichiro-DH Vidro-2B Guillen-RF Broussard-1B Beltre-3B Ibanez-LF Jones-CF Burke-C Betancourt-SS The defense in this game is going to be suspect at several positions, but at least the LH/RH balance is pretty good.
