Seriously, is this a joke?
Sports | Ordonez on verge of making Mariners | Seattle Times Newspaper If the M's want a Mets anathema that plays infield, why not trade for Kaz Matsui? He probably wouldn't cost much and would be a better option than Rey Ordonez, which isn't saying much, though. |

I heard some speculation that it might be because someone else is being shopped. Ordenez would then be Willie as Willie starts.

why on earth would we keep Ordonez when we have his clone, WFB???? Is there anything Rey does that WFB does not?
Weak hitting -- Check. Ok glove at several infield spots -- check. ability to remove splinters from ass -- check. |

Wee Willie is actually a decent base-runner and can the outfield, too. Hammerin' Rey Ordonez can't say the same.
Willie's no all-star, but he's miles better than Rey Ordonez. That's no ringing endorsement, but . . . man, I'm at a loss of words. God, does Ordonez suck. I google-search his face because I used to remember he looked like a chicken, and this one of the first pictures that came up: ![]() I even hate him more now. |

Joey, your dead on about WFB. He is younger, faster, has more power (cough, cough) and is more versatile than Ordonez. Ray adds nothing to the club. PLEASE go with Morse over Ordonez. At least Morse is still developing and has potential power. Morse will also hit for a higher average than Ordonez and can fill in at short in a pinch. Ordonez is just an older version of Wilson Valdez, ugh...

Oh God, this might be the worst managed professional sports franchise outside of Detroit Football.
Couple years ago, id say we were fortunate to have a nice few dominant years, something some teams haven't had in over a decade. At this point though, our team has zero future, with the way they are running things. Felix is the King, but we're not going to the playoffs without some help. Im actually glad Jones had a bad spring, or we'd be seeing him on the bench---and Broussard sent down. People may tell me, you're overreacting. People may tell me, you're nitpicking. Ill respond to both the same way: You cant be overstupid. They already proved they are stupid. You cant be more stupid. Once youre stupid, youre stupid. You cant overdry. You cant be overstupid. Anyone could run this franchise. Go give them a resume, they're too blind to read it. Anyone who is blinded by optimism with this FO, would be a perfect fit. Make sure you send your resume to Seattle though. The odds are slim. Only 1 in 30 franchises have a careless, stupid, frustrating front office. They're children. They're a Junior Admin. Yes, im aware of the bad Seinfeld references I made. I have to watch a lot of Seinfeld to balance out the stupidity of this offseason vs. some real wit. Everytime I watch the show, I come away smarter. Everytime I read about the Mariners, I feel stupid. Luckily, I cant be overstupid. |

No this is how I react now everytime the Mariners do something stupid.
You shoulda seen my reaction to hearing Clement and Johnson splitting time in Tacoma... Its good to be back here, btw. : D. You go into the season with no expectations, and you dont get surprised. Ive gotten my frustrations out in the offseason, so im good to go... |

Mucho Suckitude:
Mariners interested in trading Chan Ho Park? Not an April Fools joke. Maybe we could send Broussard there and call up Gookie Dawkins for our wacked out bench. Mets want a starter though. How about Felix? Felix for Park. Makes sense in Mariner lingo. Oops, forgot the LINK. Dont worry, once the season is underway, ill calm down. Last edited by Slica; 04-01-2007 at 11:29 AM. |

Another better option than Rey Ordonez:
Athletics designated infielder Antonio Perez for assignment. Bizarre. The A's carried Perez even while he slumped all of last year and then declined to non-tender him in December. He's responded this year with a find spring, hitting .298/.388/.474, and he goes anyway, all so the A's can keep two left-handed hitters when they only need one. Perez is better than he showed last year and worthy of a spot on some team's 25-man roster. Still, he might clear waivers because he's getting cut so late.
