I didn't realize he's turning 29.

I didn't realize that all this time I thought Bavasi was working on a big deal and all he was doing was trying to lock up Willie. LOL

Right. The M's off-season moves have officially begun. But I'm sure that's been said somewhere already.

When is Hargrove's term up? His use of Willie is the problem.

With the way the market is going, this was probably a smart move as Willie was likely looking at $5 Million a year.

Speaking of Hargrove, here is his managerial record:

http://www.baseball-reference.com/ma...argrmi01.shtml

He has 5 straight losing seasons as a manager. The dumbest guy over at the Scout forum could have managed that Indians club to those divison titles.

The next time Hargrove gets a club to overachieve will be the first time he has ever done that.

The intelligent Mariners fans knows that the guy is a bad manager.

I'm pretty sure that by the end of 2007 we will have a new GM and a new manager in place.

With the right moves, we could win 85-88 games next year. Again, with the right moves.

I think if we win 85 or more, Bavasi will have his job back.

However, it won't be looking too good for Grover if 85 wins doesn't get us in the playoffs.

His contract ends after this season. So they at least don't have that excuse to bring him back.

i also like willie as a utility guy, but if he ends up playing 1/2 the season again I'm going to be ticked.

A million dollars a year for Willie? You've gotta be kidding me.
