I was very concerned. One of the very few things I enjoyed about the Mariners last season was watching Putz close.

This team needs to have almost everything go right for them to have a decent season (and by that I mean .500 baseball) and having Putz out would be a huge blow especially if Reitsma would be the guy we would be relying on.

Putz announced on Mitch in the Morning (KJR-AM Seattle) that he will pitch in a Minor League game tomorrow and in Vegas over this weekend.

He has set as personal goals Saves > 40 and Games > 80. He figures that means that his season will not only be a success, but so will the team's season.

He also mentioned that Ichiro has set a goal of 130 Runs Scored in addition to the 200+ hits and .300+ average.
