Bazardo probably wouldn't have helped out the club this year so he is expendable in Bavasi's eyes. You see, all he cares about is 2007.
Scrubs like Jimenez and Sean Green are much more valuable. Good grief. The more Bavasi throws away the players he has dealt for, the more he makes himself look like the inept GM he truly is. |

Yet another great Bavasi trade. We take a commodity everybody wants - left handed pitching (Villone) - and we give him away for absolutely nothing. Bavasi may be the worst trader since the Indians gave up Manhattan for some glass beads.

1. Wait till we are completely out of the running... and I mean completely. Foregoing any chance of getting top return out of players. 2. Trade expendable commodities for youth. 3. Watch youth develop and start to show promise or watch them flounder and suck it up. 4. Regardless of how the players progress. Release, DFA or lose to waivers said players asap. Wash, rinse and repeat. Its a quick magic act of how to turn something of ranging value into absolutely nothing in less than a years time. Bavasi truly is a magician in that aspect.
