Default Putz locked up...

Major League Baseball : News : Major League Baseball News

Hard to complain about this signing. The guy was fantastic last season and there are a lot of other teams that don't have the luxury that we have in the closer role.

great to lock him up for three years. Good value.

Plus its nice to not really have a question mark at a position like that.

Seems like a good deal for a change. Club Option is for $8.6 mil seems to be a good forecast of closer's value in 4 years, considering K-Rod gets $7 mil in today's dollars.

Putz is a solid anchor for our pen and should be here for the duration. Hopefully we will be able to get to him with the lead.

Finally, a sensible move to snap me to reality! That 4th option year is solid. Barring injury <knocks on wood>, this move is going to be worth every pretty penny.

If there is one thing Bavasi has always been good at, it's locking up his good young core players to great contracts and he proved that again today.

Very nice.

His mother is my bet. He couldn't of handled a decision like that by himself.

I was referring to the call from his jail cell.

Locked up. Who did he call? (On an article centered around phone calls.) Clever. JJ in the Mariner slammer for the next three years....

I remember JJ more as a nail-biter than nails, but his numbers last year were outstanding. I suppose I remember 2004~2005 better than 2006 for some reason.

But I'm happy with the signing. Welcome to the baseball big house, JJ.

Let's light some fires.
