The Mariners' failure to even make an effort to get Matsuzaka still puzzles and bothers me. Might it have a similar impact on Ichiro's assessment of the team? The Red Sox blew away the competition with a staggering number, so even a good effort would have been unsuccessful.

Sometimes, you just have to throw your ego aside. The Mariners, apparently, just couldn't have done that.

I know everyone says "oh wow, that's just way too much."

I don't care. We pay to watch your games, we buy your merchandise. Now give us our players and show us some wins.

Tired of this.
