While the Seattle Mariners continue to play bad baseball and their front office and field manager continue to act as if they still have a shot to turn the season around, the majority of the rest of baseball’s 30 teams are preparing their clubs accordingly. I think it is arrogance. It takes a really big man to admit their failures in front of the world, instead what we see here is the arrogance of the well-to-do who have been so right about other things in life so they must be right now.
They aren't. Larry Stone was recently asked who he wouldn't make available. His answer "Felix, Morrow and maybe Clement" We know that Ichiro and Johjima aren't going to be dealt, so with those five locked in there is still a ton of flexibility that the team has with actual talented players. JJ Putz, when healthy should be dealt. Raul Ibanez One of Lopez and Yuniesky as Jason suggests Arthur Rhodes I like Jason's caveats on Bedard and Beltre But overall there are four players that could actually help the Mariners acquire real talent.
