What an awful trade...
Words can't even describe how I feel.

Oh God dont even look at lookout landing.
Their comparison of him and Joel Pineiro just adds to it. It has been confirmed, though it was said the M's might want a prospect in return. Seriously this trade is so bad, im surprised Atlanta didnt throw in a prospect just to make THEMSELVES feel better. Now, ignoring hindsight...would this be the worst trade in franchise history? I know the Slocumb was bad when it happened, and got way worse years later...but man this is terrible. Ill rely on you guys for play, and ill eye the stats and standings...but im not watching another game until they are gone from the FO. ALL OF THEM. Outside the Super Bowl Screwjob, and the Cortez Kennedy HOF Screwjob, I dont remember being more upset in sports. |

Using words like "on the verge" and "close" not LOCK, or DONE. Note that the same person who started the Seattle-Atlanta rumor said that the Pitt-Atl rumor was a done deal, and that has fallen through.

I guess you look at it this way: would you rather have Pineiro back with Soriano in the pen, or Horacio Ramirez and the loss of Soriano? Honestly, I rather them just throw money at Zito or trade for Hudson over this. (Ill retract that comment if the trade does not go down). This trade is just too horrible. Our FO has a knack at waiting for players values to get at an all time low before trading them, and then making horrible trades in general when players are at a high. This has to make video game GMs proud of themselves. Im not a business man, and I hate paperwork in general...but I honestly believe I could of done a better job than they did on a trade with Soriano. Atlanta was desperate for bullpen help...one player (Gonzalez) wasn't going to change that. |

Detectovision has interesting takes...none in which really do anything to change my opinion of the deal.
Again, like Cabrera...hes tradeable...but we coulda done better...in this case...MUCH better. It does make sense that Jeremy Reed becomes a trading chip for bullpen help. Then again is doesnt matter if we get more bullpen help because any decent starter we have in the minors will end up in the bullpen anyways. Thats how it goes in the land of Cosmos, Patricks, and Odies. Yes, im aware I used cartoon character references. After all, Marinerland is a big giant cartoon. Unfortunately, its rated R...for retarded. |

There's been so much misinformation and bullcrap thrown around the internet today, that I've reverting back to John Q Mariner fan mode.
I don't care what newspapers say, I don't care what Dave Cameron's sources say or Jason Churchill's, I don't care what rotoworld says, and I sure in the heck don't care what some random guy from Scout says. This deal does not even exist until it shows up on the official Seattle Mariners website or I see Bill Bavasi himself on the tv hosting a live press conference announcing it.

KJR is still saying that it is unconfirmed.
