The Mariners have added to their bullpen by signing LHP Arthur Rhodes to a minor league deal... This gives them a lefty to go along with RHP Chris Reitsma who they inked to a similar deal last week. Ho-hum. Didn't we go through this last year??

It's called "Re-arranging the Deck Chairs on the Titanic". It won't stop the ship from sinking but it looks as though you're doing something other than standing around waiting to drowned.

NRIs and Minor league deals aren't a big deal. Worst case is it costs 50k, and best case is the guy isn't finished.

I needed a vaction, and then work changed substantially. I'm over 50 hour weeks, plus two hours a day of commuting time. A few weeks ago I launched my own blog about Seattle Sounders FC and Life in Puget Sound. I won't be by these parts often as my focus has changed. Sorry about the unannounced retirement.
