According to Guillen he's the RF'er. I think the inital report by Brock or whatever that guys name is on the M's site was probably speculating. Well my guess is that Snelling will get his AB's unless we sign a LF'er next. Some say we are still talking to Luis althought i'm not sure if that's true.
Would it really be so bad if Snelling was our DH? We could have Raul in LF and let Snelling just hit all year long and spell both Raul and Guillen in the field with the other getting DH duties that day. Having those 3 do that is not a bad idea when you consider both Snelling and Guillen having serious legit concerns health wise. |

He was my favorite player on the Angels for that lone year he was on the team. Ever since he's been gone, we've pretty much sucked by our usual standards. What did Guillen do to get traded and suspended anyways...

Then, with the Nats, he ripped Scioscia, and accused Mike and the Angels of cheating and using pine tar when pitching. And, I was able to find a quote he used after that gave referring to Mike Scioscia. "Mike Scioscia to me is like a piece of garbage. I don't care if I get in trouble. He can go to hell." - Jose Guillen He just always has something to say and has a bad temper, along with a very short fuse...

That's what I was thinking when we got Crazy Carl last year, I hope this time it works out a little better. I think he was too calm last year for Carl Everett standards. We need someone that would put Rasheed Wallace to shame.

True, my point is, I'm not hoping for attitude anymore after what happened last year. I thought we needed attitude, but in a clubhouse with Hargrove as the manager, attitude maybe too much for him to happen. I know we need pitching and better hitting, but from a chemistry stand point it's hard to tell what we need. But I think we need a little more attitude, but I don't know if it's truely the problem.

Personally, given a choice between attitude and talent, I'll take talent every time. Attitude only works as a positive with a player if it is accompanied by talent. Talent without attitude, on the other hand, is...oh...Edgar Martinez.

I gotta say, I like this signing... a lot. Jose Guillen has a cannon for an arm, and that paired with Ichiro, is a deadly combination for opposing baserunners. He has 20 HR power too, when healthy(hopefully he can stay healthy this season). And I don't really see how you can compare him to Carl Everett... Everett was more known for his on the field outbursts more than anything else. I could understand the comparisons if we had picked up Milton Bradley though... But that's another story. Since I brought the guy up, I might as well mention how he was given another chance in Oakland and was successful. Bradley became a real leader in the postseason and was a big part(along with Thomas of couse) of Oakland's success. I think we should be willing to give Guillen a chance. He may be exactly what Seattle needs.
