Gaining on the Ducks

Only 4 points back of the Ducks, with two games in hand. San Jose is poised to make a serious run at the division. They've definitely taken advantage of Anaheim's injuries to close the gap, and they play the Ducks a bunch in February. Dallas is still 7 points back, with the Stars coming in at the end of the month.

This Marleau-Thornton-Clowe line has been unstoppable, and now they're starting to pick it up more 5-on-5. The PP didn't score last game, but they're still over 3 percentage points ahead of Montreal for the top unit.

Ducks lost again last night, which gives us 3 games in hand and only 4 points back.

It's been a rough couple of weeks for the Ducks. I think the break will help them get back on track.

That definitely helped. It put the division back in our own hands again, after we squandered our games in hand. Now we have a home and home Tuesday and Wednesday against the Ducks, which has the potential to give us the division.

Still only 3 back of the Ducks after the home-and-home split, and Anaheim's loss to Dallas. And, unfortunately, Dallas is beating the Avs 2-0 right now...
