The play that really showed Joe's determination to me, was towards the end, in the Ducks zone, he got kicked out of the faceoff circle for an important draw and was clearly not happy about it. So he goes to the right wing, Sharks cleanly lose the draw, and Thornton muscles his way into the corner and takes the puck away anyway. He just looked MAD on that play. When he's that motivated, there's not much that can stop him.

That was a very fun game to watch. I wish the outcome was different (obviously), but I certainly am looking forward to the next Sharks/Ducks matchup.
Back and forth game, the crowd was into it (though whats with all the shouting during the anthem?), late goals, top powerplay units facing top penalty kill units...what the HELL wasn't this a national game??? Stupid NHL. THIS should have been on HDNet as the game of the week, not Calgary/Phoenix. |
