10 months ago, Ramirez told MLB.com, "I know the American League system. That's one reason I don't want to go to the National League."

That’s why I don’t think this deal will happen; it would be great if it did though.

I would be very interested to see what Boston gets in this deal. Anyone know who's expandable in the Giants organization?

Ramirez cannot replace Bonds for me. Actually, nobody can; not even Pujols.

But that is the Bonds homer voice coming out of my mouth.

EDIT: Though I wouldn't mind seeing Bonds/Ortiz duke it out together in Boston.

It looks like the Manny talks are hearting up. We might be able to do a three way deal with the National. They could offer Chad Cordero and Felipe Lopez. The Giants would send young pitchers (not necessarily big-league ready) to Washington and receive Ramirez, We could also do a three-way-deal with Seattle and Boston, where we would receive Richie Sexon and Seattle would get Ramirez. The Giants are also exploring other options (Adam Dunn, Richie Sexon, and Manny) just in case Bonds signs with the A’s.

The O’s have denied that they are willing to sign him, and the A’s GM has yet to arrive at the winter meeting. Rumors say he’s still in the Bay Area talking with Bonds, trying to work out a contract.

The Manny trade would still be great, it would but be strange to see Bonds chase down Aaron in an A’s uniform though…

Did you know that the Giants are rumored to offer Carlos Lee 1.5 million a year more than the Astros offered him? They finished second in the race for Lee and Soriano.

I would not like to see Ramirez if it means Bonds leaving. However, if this had to happen, I would prefer Bonds to go to Boston. I'm looking at the World Series possibility for him more than 755 to be honest with you. It sounds strange, I know.

Odds are this won’t happen… we will probably have Bonds and Zito though. I’ve read that Zito is being offered somewhere around 100 million to come to SF and Suppan is another option.
