WISHING FOR HEALTH, SECURITY / GIANTS: Sabean's job might be on the line if they sag again
San Francisco Chronicle: "Is Brian Sabean's job on the line? It must be noted, repeated and written in cement that the general manager cannot shoulder all the responsibility for this team because Bonds' presence largely is an ownership call. However, with the payroll approaching $95 million, Sabean had enough resources at his own disposal, even if he was saddled with Bonds' $15.8 million guarantee."

It should be on the line, he has made some of the stupiest trades ( Lirano AND Nathan for AJ Perz ) along with some awful FA signings.....
Although I will say he has probably been hampered by the fact that he has Bonds on the team. If Bonds was not on the team then I bet he doesnt make 1/2 the moves he made.

That hard to judge if he would of made most of those moves he probaly woudn't because he had a LOT of faith in bonds maybe a bit to much
