Default Bonds re-signs with Giants

1 year, $16 million

Wasn't too much of a surprise, but I'm glad that it happened.

I knew he would sign with the Giants. I couldnt see him going anywhere else. Im still wondering why he took 16 million didnt he want much more than that?

I’m happy with the signing. There weren’t anymore power hitters left on the market and we didn’t have enough to get Manny, so we took the best available option. Plus when Bonds breaks the record it will be in a Giants uniform, not another which is the right thing to do.

Bonds finally signs contract

Quote:
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) -- Barry Bonds is expected to show up on time at spring training and get right to work with the rest of the San Francisco Giants.

And that's got to be a big relief for all parties.

Bonds finally signed his $15.8 million, one-year deal and it was approved Thursday by the commissioner's office, ending more than two months of wrangling between the slugger and the San Francisco brass over contract language.

With both sides satisfied, Bonds is scheduled to arrive Monday and is likely to participate in the Giants' first full-squad workout Tuesday.

Well it was approved today and he should be ready to go next week....

He was interviewed for about two minutes during the NBA Celebrity All Star Game, and he was saying how he was ready for a hell of a year. He seemed very optimistic about his health and perhaps even his stroke.
