They have always been linked in trades since I can remember. Astros become Padres sometimes in their career(Caminiti) and Pads become Stros. Now in the Winter Meeting, everyday I come home from school I hear a new rumor that the Astros and the Padres have another deal in the making.
I have heard the rumor about Morgan Ensberg for Jake Peavy, Another involving an unnamed Astro for Scott Linebrink, and then today I just read on rotoworld.com that the Astros are insterested in trading Jason Lane for Josh Bard. My question is, are the Astros and the Padres secretly joined at the hip?

Really? I haven't heard anything in regards to any current Pads-Stros deals.
Bard for Lane is probably a wash of a deal (although I really like Bard) . There was some talk about Ensberg coming down the stretch last season, but rest assured-Peavy is going NOWHERE. We also need a power bat, and it seems KT is trying to move Linebrink for one. How about Liney for Ensberg?

I guess the Pads were shopping Peavy kind of like the Astros shopped Oswalt just to see is value. I really wish we could get Peavy though but I will be more than happy to get Linebrink back.

I don't really see the Astros being a fit with San Diego. I'm sure the 'Stros would love to have Peavy or Young, but I don't see the Astros having what the Padres would want. As for trading for Linebrink, the Astros don't have a need for him and would not trade Ensberg to get him.
