Report:Maddux close to signing with Pads

K. Rosenthal of the Sporting news and padres.com is reporting that the Padres are close to a one or two year deal with Maddux. The second year could be a club option. Maddux was seeking a two year deal in the 20mil range.

If true, this would be an excellent addition!

to a one-year contract, according to sources, with a second-year player option.
