Default Celts, T-Wolves talk trade involving Garnett

Quote:
Boston Celtics director of basketball operations Danny Ainge acknowledged Monday that he has talked with the Minnesota Timberwolves about a potential trade for Kevin Garnett.

However, Ainge refused to comment about a published report that had the Celts shipping Al Jefferson, Gerald Green, Sebastian Telfair, Theo Ratliff and the fifth pick in next week's NBA draft for the All-Star forward.
Article

This actually sounds pretty serious, Ainge knows Boston needs to improve, or his days are numbered their. What a big trade this would be. If I was Boston's gm I would pull the trigger, that is if Minnesota sends them KG and a pick in return.

However, I wonder would KG really help Boston out that much?

Trade would be beyond stupid for the Celtics

You dont trade Al Jefferson, the kid is what 21? and is just established himself as a dominate Center last year.

Onto top of that you are trading Green AND the 5th pick ? For a aging 30 plus yr old KG ?

No way I do that

Its a steal for Minnesota

KG Says 'No' To Boston:

Quote:
The proposed trade that would have sent Kevin Garnett to Boston, agreed to in principle by ex-teammates Kevin McHale and Danny Ainge, was taken off the table Thursday after Garnett got word to the Celtics that he doesn't want to play for them.

Garnett, according to sources close to the situation, is hoping for a trade to the Phoenix Suns if he has to leave the only team he has ever played for.

"The Boston trade isn't happening," Garnett's agent, Andy Miller, told ESPN.com's Chris Sheridan. "If a trade were to happen, that's not a destination that we're interested in pursuing."

I know the Suns want to trade Shawn Marion so a deal would seem likely with the Suns. KG just didn't want to go to Boston because they were horrible last season, and he wants to go on a team that has an instant chance of winning a title.

If Garnett ends up in Phoenix, the Suns will be tough to beat.

I've been hearing that Boston is still involved. Garnett to Phoenix, Marion to Boston, and I'm assuming Paul Pierce to Minnesota.

Minnesota is trying to get Amare though. If I'm the Suns though there is NO WAY I give up Amare, even if means not getting Garnett.
