Brandon Roy of the Portland Trailer blazers has won the NBA Rookie of the Year award.
Quote:
Brandon Roy was named the NBA's Rookie of the Year on Wednesday.
Just like last year's ROY, Chris Paul, Roy got all but one of the first place votes for the award, totalling 127 of 128 possible. The other vote went to Andrea Bargnani. Roy, the sixth overall draft pick by Minnesota, was traded to Portland in a draft-day deal and led all rookies in scoring at 16.8 points per game. He also was tops among rookies in assists (4.0) and minutes (35.4) per game.

It was well deserved and I think he was by far the best rookie when healthy in the NBA this year. The Blazer have a heck of a young Duo in Aldridge and Roy for years to come. Things could be turning around for them in the near furture.
