Blazers trade Dixon

to the Raptors for SG/SF Fred Jones

ESPN is reporting

Both players will see minutes for their new teams, but it remains to see if they have any fantasy value. Dixon had been playing fairly well for the Blazers, while Jones has been out with a finger injury until returning on Wednesday

Dont know if I really understand this trade...

whats not to understand? Dixon wanted out. He was also a liability on defense, and not reliable on offense.

Yeah, but is Freddie Jones much better?

Hap, was Dixon's problem on D due to his size? I know in college he was a pretty tough defender.

Dixon is very tiny for his position. In college, it's easier for a player to play defense because generally speaking players are smaller and not as good as they are in the pros.

Dixon weighs 160 soaking wet. I think Freddie weighs 40 or more pounds more than that. That does make a difference when you're 6'2" at best (for Dixon).
