Default McKechnie Field to get upgrades-lights

For the first time in the history of McKechnie Field, there will be lights at the
Field. The park is one of the oldest fields in Florida, having been on site,
since 1923, but it was completely redone in 1993, however, there has only
been day games played.

There will be other additions to the park as well. New dorms for the ball players will be built, along with a new larger visiting clubhouse, and an additional field for the minor leaguers. The home clubhouse will also recieve
some upgrades as well.

Along with this the Pirates have committed themselves to 30 more years
of training in Bradenton, they have or will sign a new lease which goes
into effect Feb. 1, 2008.

If you have never visited Bradenton in the spring, it really is a great place to
watch a game. The tix are very affordable, and the people there are some of
the friendliest in Florida.
