What's the word on Van BenSchoten

Does anyone know how he is coming around, and what are the Pirates expecting from him? I'm a Braves fan but my wife is friends with his sister, so I was just wondering how things were going with him.

Lenny,

I saw something on Ben Schoten and now I can not find it. I believe he is
supposed to be back in the late spring. He is now pain free, and should
begin soon or has begun long tossing, and is scheduled to start thowing
off the mound in January or so.

His return to health would bode well for the Pirates rotation, and if he is
his old self, the Pirates will be very competive with him on the mound.

he threw 40 pitches with no pain they say he will probably be in triple a to start season unless mahone gets dealt for hawp in colorado
