Default Yotes assign Aebischer to AHL

Glendale, AZ (Sports Network) - The Phoenix Coyotes assigned goaltender David Aebischer to their American Hockey League affiliate on Wednesday.
The native of Switzerland posted a 13-12-3 record, with a 3.17 goals-against average, in 32 games with Montreal last season. The Canadiens acquired Aebischer from Colorado for Jose Theodore in March, 2006.
He signed with the Coyotes as a free agent in July, but found himself on the wrong end of a three-goaltender rotation that included Mikael Tellqvist and Alex Auld. He lost his only start of the year, a 3-0 loss to Columbus on October 10.
In six NHL seasons, Aebischer has collected a record of 106-74-12, with a 2.52 GAA and 13 shutouts in 214 career games with Colorado, Montreal and Phoenix. He won a Stanley Cup in 2001 with the Avalanche as the rookie backup to Hall-of-Fame goaltender Patrick Roy.

I'm surprised that he has struggled since leaving Colorado. I knew he wouldn't do well in Montreal, but I thought he would be a starting goaltender in this league.

You would at leats think he could keep his job ahead of Alex Auld and Mikael Tellqvist. Come on your playing in Pheonix. Oh ya thats right your not anymore.
