Default Phillies @ Mets Series Thread April 9th, 11th,12th

After coming off a dismal 1st week of the season, the Phillies look to rebound at Shea and hopefully take 2 out of 3 against the Mets.

Pitching Matchups:

Monday April 9th Cole Hamels against John Maine-- 1:10 pm CSN
Wednesday April 11th Adam Eaton against Oliver Perez--7:10 pm CN8
Thursday April 12th Jamie Moyer vs Tom Glavine-- 7:10 pm CSN

Players to watch:

New York:

SS Jose Reyes hit .320 with 3 SB in the 1st week of the season
C Paul LoDuca hit .409 against the Cardinals and Braves
RF Shawn Green hit .375 in the 1st week of the year

Philadelphia:

LF Pat Burrell his favorite park to hit is at Shea, and is off to a great start.
SS Jimmy Rollins is backing his talk up, with 3 homeruns already
SP Cole Hamels pitched great against the Braves, we'll see about today.

Forecast for New York:

Monday April 9th Mostly Sunny High 49
Wednesday April 11th Mostly Cloudy High 49
Thursday April 12th Rain/Thunder High 45

More cold weather to play ball in, but the Phillies need to win the series. 2 out of 3 is a must!

Utley with 2 RBI, including his 1st homerun of the year. The Mets get a clutch hit with the bases loaded and 2 outs.

this team flat out sucks. Howard is starting to turn it around, but as soon as the hitting turns around the pitching sucks. This team is inconsistent, and that falls on 1 person. CHARLIE MANUEL.

Yeah I guess you can put some blame on him now, because he had all winter. Trade Aaron Rowand, he looks lost.

Eaton pitching decent, but we are waiting for him to have that big inning to where he gives up runs.

5-2 was the final. Phillies lead the league in walks, they had 40 going into the game. Rubber match is tonight weather permitting.
