League sources indicated that the Phillies and reliever Geoff Geary, their final remaining arbitration-eligible player, are close to a resolution. "

I am not concerned about Howard. He will get his money at some point. Geary should only get a 1 year deal.

What if just what if they don't agree on anything and he has another year like last year i have 3 questions for you then
1) what are the phillies thinking letting him get away
2) How much would he be looking at getting (must be pretty high)
3) What team would he end up with

He's not a free agent til after 2011. Initial reports have him wanting more than what Soriano got. I think he ends up staying here. He's not Pat Burrell, but right after Burrell had his breakout season in 2001, we signed him to a long term deal. It's better to wait.

true good point but he could be the next Pujos it should be great watching this kid over the years in the MLB

nobody is gonna be the next Pujols. I agree, watching Howard every night over the last year and a half has been amazing. Every time he comes up to bat, he's a threat to hit a homerun.

maybe after 2010 if he doesn't have a contract extension i'd be worried, but that's 4 seasons away yet.
