Another good move by Gillick. It looks like this guy can hit. Does this mean Abraham Nunez will be out of a job?

He can swing, he can hit for average, what he can't do is walk or hit for power, or run. His defense at third is likely about average, probably true at first as well. He can't play the outfield. He's been beaten out by the Worst Hitter in Baseball for several years.

Hey he is already better than Abe Nunez. If Dobbs can hit for average and play average defense at 3B, then he's a fit here. I personally like the move, I am glad Gillick takes chances like this on players.

If they do screw Chris Coste out of a roster spot, I hope they trade him to a place where he could get some playing time. I don't think Coste could get us much in return, but they could probably get another arm for the pen.

yeah i think the guy deserves to be on a major league roster he has more than paid his dues

I agree. I guess we will have to wait and see what kind of a spring Dobbs, Coste, and Garcia have. I think there is 2 spots open for those 3 players.

There are alot of guys getting claimed off waivers. I personally don't think Gillick is finished, but I could be wrong.
