Default Phillies trade Conine to Cincinnati

http://philadelphia.phillies.mlb.com...=.jsp&c_id=phi

We figured one of the outfielders had to go after the Jayson Werth signing, we got something for Conine even though it wasn't much.

I agree fire bettman. It sounds like Coste is gonna be in the same situation as last year. If he doesn't hit .300 in Spring Training, he won't make the team.

Yeah he did, but I do like the Barajas signing though. Considering it is a 1 year deal plus an option. I am not real confident about Ruiz. If Ruiz has a poor spring, he could be the one getting cut and not Chris Coste.

Trade Ruiz for bullpen help.

i remember a game in sept against the nats that he almost single handedly lost for us down the stretch. i know he is young but i dont see why alot of people on the other board are so impressed w/ this guy. imo he will be nothing more than a career back up. i think bobby estella looked more promising than ruiz when he was coming up and look how he turned out

Ruiz is 27, he's not that young. I remember Bobby Estellela, 3 homeruns in Montreal, all of them moon shots.

If Ruiz was around 23 or 24, maybe I'd want to keep him around. Ruiz will be nothing more than a backup platoon catcher. He can throw runners out though.
