Default Phils get Freddy Garcia

Linkage

Freddy Garcia for Gavin Floyd and Gio Gonzalez. I kind of like this trade, assuming they can re-sign Garcia.

I don't think they will re-sign Rowand for a multi-year deal because they have Michael Bourne who will be ready to take over in 2008. This is a great trade for the Phillies. Gavin Floyd stinks, Gonzalez will be a good pitcher, but we need to win now and not 2010.

Rowand is ok, but I can live with Victorino in center field. Rowand will probably get you more in return because he's a leader and will do anything to help a team win.

Rowand plays wreckless and he doesn't hit. I don't like anything about his game. He has been overrated since the catch he made, which actually ended any production he was having. I think he is over matched at the plate. He's not particularly good at any one aspect of the game, and I think his play in the outfield is shabby. He doesn't cover much ground, he'll take himself out of the lineup with unnecesary injuries. I would move him soon
