Default McNabb supports Reid, Garcia

Quote:
PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- Donovan McNabb is throwing his support behind Philadelphia Eagles coach Andy Reid and backup quarterback Jeff Garcia.

McNabb, rehabbing his surgically repaired right knee, said he hopes everything turns out well for Reid, who is taking a one-month leave of absence to deal with his sons' legal problems.

"We all support him," McNabb said Saturday in his first comments about Reid's family problems. "I just continue to pray for him that everything will turn out for the best."

Reid's sons Garrett, 23, and Britt, 21, are facing separate legal issues.

While McNabb is still hopeful of beginning next season as the Eagles' starting quarterback, he said he'd be content to let Garcia start if he's not ready to play. That is, if the Eagles re-sign the unrestricted free agent.

Good to see McNabb is showing some support for the team, considering he is the face of the franchise. Hopefully Reid comes back from his absence with more motivation to win, but I just don't see us resigning Garcia....

What about all of you?

With so many teams in good shape with the salary cap (PHI only has about $10 mil to spend I believe) and the better free agents getting tagged, I'm betting someone will overpay for Garcia.

I'd rather see them sign a run-stuffing DT, a WR and/or a LB.

Personally I would expect nothing less than what McNabb sez..... he has always been a class act.

As for the team, I agree that they don't need Jeff back, A. J is a fine backup and I also would rather see them resign Stallworth(don't think they will but I would like them too).

Anybody on this site think that the Reid absence will be for a longer stretch then the one month?
