Forsberg soon to be a Senator?
Quote:
It appears the Ottawa Senators have joined the Peter Forsberg sweepstakes.
According to the Ottawa Sun, Senators general manager Bryan Murray has contacted Forsberg's agent to express his interest in Forsberg.
Forsberg, who is an unrestricted free agent, underwent ankle surgery last month but says he has responded well from the procedure.
"He's not ready to play at this point because of health issues, but I talked to his agent and told him we're interested," Murray told the Ottawa Sun. "He's still a ways away from making a decision on where he'll play, or even if he'll play."
Last season, Forsberg scored 40 points in 40 games with the Philadelphia Flyers before being dealt to the Nashville Predators at the trade deadline. He added 15 points in 17 games for the Predators, who were ousted in the first round of the playoffs by the San Jose Sharks.
Murray feels the Senators could offer Forsberg an opportunity to win another Stanley Cup.
