Raiders deny plans to fire Shell

(CBS 5) OAKLAND The Oakland Raiders late Thursday denied an NFL Network report that said the team plans to fire coach Art Shell after the current season concludes.

Not only did the franchise deny the story, they issued a statement attacking NFL Network television reporter Adam Schefter, formerly a Denver Post sportswriter.

"Adam Schefter has always been a false rumor monger with respect to the Raiders and anti-Raider based upon his relationship with Denver and Mike Shanahan," the statement read. It's sad he was nothing more than a fall guy this season and now they don't even give him another year. The Raiders have to look at alot of other things to place blame on first before they come to him.
