damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn

How do I root for an Athletic? That explains why Bean acquired Langerhans.

Well, he doesn't look like much of a replacement for Piazza, but oh well...

Nat, this Snelling has one of the most loyal followings of any Mariner prospect, probably more so than even King Felix.

His knowledge of the strike zone has impressed many for years. Including Sweet Lou, as Lou made an exception to his "no rookies" policy when Chris "Jedi" Doyle "Yoda" Snelling was called up the first time.

But it doesn't explain why the Nats acquired Langerhands. It made sense for the A's at the moment, who have no CFers that aren't injured right now. I don't pay enough attention to the Nationals to know why they would need him over Snelling.

Good trade for you guys. Being a Phillies fan, I do see Langerhans play, and he's ok. He's a 4th OF, nothing more. Snelling if healthy will turn out to have a much better season.

Cool, well that explains Beane's interest in him then. Should make a good (better?) replacement for Kielty in the OF....as for Piazza's loss, well that's why I wanted Durazo kept around.
What's the latest on Felix anyway?

Don't trust M's fans on player evaluations. They love garbage and hate .300 hitters.

Are you still going on about this Jose Vidro thing?

It's not that we don't like .300 hitters, it's that we don't like empty .300 hitters who are getting by on high BABIP's.

Vidro is hitting .307/.358/.376 with a .321 BABIP. He has THREE extra base hits and two of those came in one game against craptastic Rangers pitching. And for all the talk of how many pitches he was supposed to see, he's seen as many per plate appearance(3.5) as Betancourt has, and Yubet is one of the games biggest free swingers.

Isn't my fault you can't see past batting average.

And here's USSM driving the point home for me.

Seriously, he's not a good hitter.
