I was lucky enough to have been at the game today. There are more and more clutchman Marco jerseys every game. Marco was instrumental in the last greatest moment at the Coliseum in recent years, last season's playoff game to sweep the Twinks and now today with his heroics against the Skanks. When I watched the recap and learned from his interview that he had broken his bat on the previous pitch, and laughed that he had to face Rivera (he had been hitless against him career-wise) with a bat he hadn't used all year, thought what a great story for baseball this guy is. I now HAVE to get the movie, "Player to be named later," or something like that, which is a documentary with Scooter in it from a few years ago when he was in the minors. What a great series to have beaten the Skanks, 2/3 in a series that had enough innings for 4 games, but only took 3, in their only visit to Oakland this year. I have to admit I won't miss the NYY fans. Chavvy is looking a bit more effective every time up. We have to score in more than the first and last innings though. I hope our pitching can hang on until our offense clicks up and down the lineup a little more. Marshall is solid. Should try Buck and Scoot fulltime for a bit here, I think. Do it until they aren't effective any more. Stewart has the history to stay with him longer to see if he gets warm. Kendall keeps contributing in several ways even though his bat has not found the holes. He has been making good contact a lot early on here though. Go Marco! Bring on the Halos! Go A's! Later, RDB |

I agree with Buck playing full-time...not sure about Scooter. He seems to be best in his pinch-hitting role, then again my patience with #7 is wearing as thin as ever, so perhaps he should be given a shot.
Stewart should at least be given playing time til Kotsay and/or Johnson get back. Kielty, well, he's lucky he hit the game-winner Friday night... |

they should do with buck what they did with swisher a couple seasons back.. stick him in the bottom of the lineup and leave him there whether he hits or not..
scutaro is best when not playing everyday.. i liked how crosby has been taking the ball the other way.. he roped that ball in the ninth today.. he keeps doing that they are bound to find holes.. then again just throw sliders at him and he wont hit a thing.. |
