Default Opening Day lineup?

Here's my prediction:

Stewart-LF
Kendall-C
Bradley-RF
Piazza-DH
Chavez-3B
Swisher-LF
Crosby-SS
Bocachica-CF
Ellis-2B

okay, I might go with your prediction if Barry Zito and his fly balls were still around, but I think we might need a first baseman with Dan Haren on the mound.
I presume you meant to put Swish at first. I agree with everything but that and Bocachica starting- I'd move Bradley over to center, Swish in right, and have Johnson start at first.

Let's put Piazza and center and Scutaro on the mound. YEAH!

Haha, well DJ's had such a terrible spring I thought they may go for performance over name value at this point....yes, Swish was meant for first.
I guess Ruby is a goner

Nat;

Having the advantage of seeing which players they sent down, it looks like you need to re-work this lineup. Bocachica was designated to the minor league camp. I assume that means he won't be the starting center fielder, or does it? Will he come north with the club and play this weekend?

The lights are on at the Coliseum right now, and it is 1:30PM on Monday afternoon with on/off drizzle in Oaktown at the moment. I suppose Clay Wood is getting the field ready, as they play one here on Sunday vs Gigantes. Just strange to see the lights on in the middle of the day when there is no game scheduled.

Who will start in the outfield this weekend and then for the season opener up in Seattle? Is Kielty ready to play? Probably be Johnson at 1st, Swisher in RF, Bradley in CF and Stewart in LF.

Go A's!
(One more week!)

Later,
RDB

not for nothin', but DJs hitting .294 and showing a good eye at the plate. i'm in the minority of those that are rooting for him to do well

Yup, it sure looked like torches and pitchforks' time for him at the beginning of ST, but he made a big push and became as productive as Ruby at the plate here at the end.

But, accidentally squirting sunblock into his eye this time last year. That one had me doubting anything the guy said, after not mentioning that little tidbit until a year later. What was the first excuse he offered again?

Skeptical here. What are they going to do with Durazo? Help him find a job with another club and watch him have a great year for someone else? What happens if DJ misses his cheek with the sunblock again? Or accidentally slams his fingers in the fridge door? (Canseco in the '90 WS)

So far, so good with the injuries/recoveries.

Waiting but not holding my breath.

well johnson has a hip flexor injury or something.. i want him to do well but i hate watching his atbats at times..

johnson needs to hit this year as unfortunately for him he can be easily replaced and the a's may even have a better option than johnson at this point..

that sunblock excuse is pathetic from what i can tell as didnt hit the cover off the ball as soon as he went to sacramento..?? ah maybe it may have been someone else..

I'm pretty sure that if I could throw 85mph I could get Dan Johnson out.
