The new site seems cool...back to business though the a's hired Geren to replace macha, not much of shock there to most people i guess. Thomas is gone, the guy that carried us through the year will be hard to replace. Bonds has been mentioned, but i doubt thats realistic.

i definitely dont want to see barry bonds in an A's uniform. Thomas was great with the A's, but how about this name: jeff bagwell (is he an unrestricted free agent?) I think the top priority for Beane is to sign Bradley, Street, Swisher, Kennedy, Duke to long term deals so that we can keep them till we move to Fremont. Once we move to Fremont, hopefully we will be able to compete with other big market teams for top free agents.

I love what Thomas did for the A`s and I am disappointed that he isn't coming back. Don't get me wrong I agree with the Org. that it was probably too great a risk to sign him for a guaranteed 18 million over 2 years.
As for Baroids, I would rather watch the A`s finish in 4th place this year that to have to watch him steal the record while in an A`s uniform. |

I have a feeling the A's think they got really lucky with Thomas this year, and that the luck wouldn't last for next year too.
Not only he hit really well, but he stayed healthy all year. At his age, it is tough to both hit well and stay healthy. The A's are all about numbers, so why not stand by the law of averages... |
