They are probably waiting to see what the other young OFers are capable of before offering Milton a longer contract. Milton will be more expensive than any of the guys they have with potential to fill the OF spot.

True....depends on how much he's asking. Unless an outrageous amount (in A's numbers), I'd also think him to be the most low-risk (easy to move) contract out of the others. But I suppose the injury history would also be a sticking point...
