ESPN rumor mill says Jon Lieber might be available from the Phillies for "bullpen help."

Now, I don't pay a whole lot of attention to the NL, and I'm not by any means saying this should definitely be done, but when I read about it, I thought "we need another starter, and we've got a pretty thick bullpen."

I don't know much about Lieber anymore. I know he's not as good as he was 6 or 7 years ago, but that's about it. He might be too expensive also. So anyway. Just throwing that out there. Probably won't happen. Thoughts?

Ehhh, not really necessary. As you stated, the A's pen is already loaded. I'm guessing Beane's strategy going into the season is having his starters go six and have enough strong arms to finish the last three each game. Hopefully the relievers will not burn out by September...

Uh, isn't Lieber a starter? That was what I meant. Anyway, after thinking about it, I realized he probably makes more money than the team wants to spend. Don't know how long he's under contract for either.
