Default BP's Kevin Goldstein rates MLB Farm systems (we're 22nd)

Phillip Hughes must be god with a curveball if the Yanks have the #4 system in baseball.

Well, they also have Jose Tabata, along with the arms they got in the Sheffield and RJ deals. Humberto Sanchez, in particular, was right there with Verlander and Zumaya in the Tigers system. And of course there are the pitchers they took in the draft last year: Joba Chamberlain, who fell due to injury and bonus demands but on talent was a top 10 pick; Dellin Betances, who I think will turn out to be one of the top three pitchers from the 2006 draft class, and Ian Kennedy, who doesn't have the stuff of the other two but does have the pedigree.

The Yankees are finally using their money correctly again. Sadly, the rest of the league is in for it if Steinbrenner doesn't do anything to mess it up.

I'm so very glad that last clause is likely to be untrue.

You mean we're... 23rd. At least we're not the Pirates. At least we're not the Pirates.

Default Yankees farm system

also picked up a lot of talent from latin american signings. Unfortunately the A's do nothing down there in signings.

A little early for that judgment, dude.

Seriously, Eck. They can't have it both ways: criticize Beane for ignoring high-schoolers, and then when he does draft them, expect these kids to light it up in their first three months of pro ball.

Do the A's still have that training centre in the DR? They haven't seemed to grow much from the area since Tejada...

The Yanks, Mets, Dodgers, and Angels throw buckets of money at them instead.
