Although I wouldn't be heart broken to see the A`s with a 90-100 million budget, I am very confident and comfortable with the way Beane fills out the team.

Though thats true, whats the point of comparing him to swisher? Soriano hit leadoff and drove in those runs, while swish was in the middle. Also, if your gonna compare salaries, thats insane since swish hasn't hit FA yet. Had he been a FA he'd get 10 mil this year too. The writer failed to mention his 40 steals also. But I agree, overpaid.

The entire comparison is a little silly - those numbers look just randomly cherry-picked out of all the possible ways you could compare the two players.

Right, Soriano cannot field that well and in fact sat on bench some this last season until he decided to play in outfield. Swisher is a better defender by far whether in OF or at !B.
