I'm exagerating of course but with the money starting pitchers were recieving this year...

And who is going to take over for Harden when he gets injured in May?

I think I would rather give Winsdor another shot before Halsey, especially since Kennedy is moving from the bullpen to the rotation.

I don't see Windsor or Komine ever starting in the majors again. They just don't have it. Halsey may not be perfect but his is significantly better than those options.

Windsor is going to be a reliever, based on the fact that his fastball loses about 6 mph after 3 innings.

I'd say 1.2 million, since that's what Saarloos just signed for.

I just hope this isn't a rebuilding phase. Or it could be a deliberate hoarding of younger guys for a big, big trade....

Trading Saarloos hardly counts as rebuilding. I think this is definately a salary dump but as Mike says I hope we get the better of the PTBNL. Sickels ranks Shafer as a grade C and "useful bullpen spare part" while BA project him as a 6th/7th inning reliever. He put up some nice stats at AA, but at 24 wasn't young for the league and has average stuff.

Any else wish that we did send Saarloos, instead of Ethier, for Bradley as was first reported?
