A's interested in Dustin Hermanson?

Can never have too many arms, I guess.

But, I see your point. They are going to have to eventually address the lack of pop in the lineup. I don't know how effective Mike Piazza is going to be and even if he performs like Frank Thomas did this year, will he be back in 2008?

Yeah, especially after reading the article that Goose posted down in the Mike Piazza thread-- BP trying to play with Piazza's PETCOA projection and not getting it to improve much.

Hermanson was money for the ChiSox in 2005. He racked up 34 saves, which makes him a potentially overpriced trading chip for Beane. If he's available on the cheap, I say bring him in.

Beane has had interest in him for years now. All the way back to his years as a starter in Montreal.

I wish for once that Beane would be interested in someone who's actually good... (apologies to Jack Cust, Erubiel Durazo, etc.). I suppose Mark Kotsay counts...

Let's see... Can Hermanson play the outfield or firstbase??? Oh he is a pitcher and another arm to stockpile in the bullpen, and for only $5M a year. Great, just what we need. Then trade Street for a couple of top minor league talents. LOL..
