Interesting regarding the Whitecaps. I'd say that was un-American, but of course it isn't America.

It looks as though we may be the only northwest franchise? If so, that's too bad.

For the near term yes. I'm hoping that there will still be a Cascadia Cup betweeen the Timbers/WhiteCaps and MLS Seattle.

Look to another delay in the announcement battle between Philly and St.Loius. Also it seems the next round after that will involve the loser of Philly/StL as well as Miami, Montreal, VancouverBC and NY2

Yes, but still disappointing. Ideally an agreement could be reached where his dollars invested into stadium improvements would result in a share of ownership. There's also the issue of the AAA baseball team.

I really wish that PDX would be coming up shortly after, or preferrably with, the Sounders. It is one of the best rivalries in sports.

Update: Philly wins the bid for a team in '09. Find the story on MLS's homepage. According to the St. Louis Post Dispatch, St. Louis is next in line, if they can strengthen their ownership group.
