Default Bad Attendances in MLS

I watched Toronto FC play the Colorado Rapids in Denver. They Rapids play in a 18,000 seat stadium and there must have been only around 6-8,000 at the game. It was horrible! Look at Toronto FC they sell out every game. Teams shouldn't have to play in front of such embarrassing crowds.

Two problems in Colorado.

Marketing to yuppies and families instead of the likely fan base. "World's Game, Colorado's team" is the wrong order IMO. A core soccer crowd wants to let loose there, and want to follow a CLUB more than a sport. Security have been way too harsh in chasing them away.

Denver is kind of stretched. The Nuggets were close to an afterthought (and the Rockies headed there) before getting Iverson, then the Rockies went to the series. Nuggets and Avalanche have brought home the bacon. The Colorado MAMMOTH (NLL) get damn good crowds, and the Crush aren't that bad. The Rapids did make a final early on, but they've got a lot of ground to make up. Thing is, with their own stadium, I don't
see them leaving anytime soon.
